The feeling and force of strong wind infuses the work of American marine painter Edward Mornng. His seascape Marine Painting counterpositions the directional surge of the waves with that of blown clouds to achieve a remarkably emotional canvas, full of tension and energy.
Mornng was born in California, in 1903. His paintings depicting water and rocks in seascapes, undisturbed by ships or man, are both realistic and romantic. He has produced work in all medias, but is known chiefly for his watercolors and paintings in oil.
